After the sixty-second scavenging rush, play shifts into a choice-driven management game aboard the shuttle. You ration soup and supplies, decide who repairs equipment or visits strange planets, craft useful gear from limited resources, and respond to daily crises through branching text events. Every astronaut brings distinct personality traits and relationships that affect outcomes, while hunger, injuries, madness, and bitter arguments can quickly wreck an otherwise promising expedition. Randomized encounters and difficult trade-offs make every journey unpredictable: sending a crew member outside may uncover vital fuel or leave the ship short-handed, while keeping everyone safe can mean missing the one opportunity that saves the mission.

Its strongest feature is the contrast between cheerful mid-century sci-fi presentation and the grim realities of survival. Chrome interiors, cartoonish character art, and ridiculous alien hazards give 60 Parsecs! a lighter tone than most roguelite survival games, yet permanent consequences keep decisions meaningful.
