Coop McCarthy’s miserable school life becomes the starting point for a foul-mouthed point-and-click adventure wrapped in the unmistakable stick-figure style of Cyanide & Happiness. As a ginger orphan universally dismissed as “Go Away, Weirdo,” Coop wants to improve the world, survive bullying, and maybe find a prom date, but nearly every good intention turns into another social disaster. The tone is gleefully cruel, absurd, and deliberately uncomfortable, treating apocalyptic stakes and teenage humiliation with the same deadpan punchline. Freakpocalypse feels like an interactive episode of the webcomic, complete with grotesque jokes, bleak timing, and a cast that rarely behaves like a normal human being.

Most of the action revolves around roaming school halls and surrounding locations, examining scenery, speaking with oddball characters, collecting items, and using them in often ridiculous puzzle solutions. Players can inspect, talk to, or interact with a remarkable number of objects, and the best gags frequently come from trying actions that clearly should not work. Progress follows classic adventure-game logic, with inventory puzzles, quest chains, optional errands, environmental secrets, and occasional opportunities to die in spectacularly stupid ways. Fully voiced conversations and cinematic scenes keep the pacing lively, while unlockable outfits, achievements, and side activities reward players who poke into every corner rather than rushing through the main story.

Its biggest strength is commitment to the Cyanide & Happiness sensibility: crude, unpredictable comedy where a joke can be hidden in a trash can, a dialogue option, or an especially cruel failure state. The hand-drawn presentation stays intentionally simple, but expressive animation, original music, and familiar faces such as Ted Bear and Shark Dad make the world feel far more animated than its minimalist art suggests. Puzzle veterans should be prepared for some intentionally obtuse adventure-game reasoning, though the frequent jokes soften the frustration.
