Fast and Low (VR)

A crime-ridden metropolis becomes the stage for a punchy two-cop action campaign built around the unusual pairing of VR and traditional first-person shooting. One player inhabits Maximus Faust in virtual reality, physically leaning around cover, reaching for weapons, and turning chaotic firefights into a hands-on stunt show. The other takes Samuel Lo, a flatscreen officer with a more conventional FPS perspective and a kit designed for tactical support. Fast and Low balances its B-movie cop premise with surprisingly demanding gun battles, giving every breach, alleyway shootout, and hostage situation a scrappy action-film energy.

Missions send the pair through dangerous urban locations where clearing rooms, watching sightlines, and choosing the right moment to push forward matter more than simply spraying bullets. Faust’s VR controls allow for natural tricks such as shooting from behind cover, handling a weapon in each hand, and physically checking angles before exposing himself, making him feel like the frontline risk-taker. Lo compensates with equipment unavailable to his partner, creating a division of roles that encourages coordination rather than making the non-VR player feel secondary. Solo players can bring an AI-controlled partner, although the intended experience shines brightest when two people share the same mission locally.

Its asymmetric co-op format is the real hook: few action games let a headset user and a standard monitor-and-controller player work together on equal terms. The contrast between physical VR gun handling and gadget-driven FPS support gives encounters an appealing tactical rhythm, especially when partners communicate about doors, enemies, and crossfire. Presentation favors low-budget indie charm over realism, but the focused mission design and distinct character roles carry the experience. Fans of cooperative shooters such as SWAT-style room-clearers, arcade police games, or VR titles that reward active movement find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect a more physical and occasionally intense VR experience than a casual target-range shooter.
