Its hand-drawn fantasy world is playful, odd, and packed with personality, but the puzzles carry real tension once hazards, armored enemies, and strict exit requirements begin crowding the board. Grindstone balances cheerful animation with the satisfaction of planning a perfectly brutal chain of sword strikes.

Each stage asks you to link adjacent Creeps of the same color, cutting through long routes to gather materials, clear objectives, and reach the exit before the board turns against you. Longer chains create grindstones that let you continue a route into another color, making each turn a careful exercise in route planning, risk management, and knowing when to cash out. Enemies hit harder when left alive, while environmental threats and specialized foes force you to consider positioning rather than simply chase the biggest possible combo. Progression comes through collected blueprints and craftable gear, including weapons, armor, and consumables that provide useful advantages without removing the need for smart puzzle play. Hundreds of stages, boss encounters, a boss-rush challenge, daily leaderboard modes, and a carnival wheel give the campaign plenty of reasons to keep returning.
