The mood is tense but adventurous: oxygen is limited, corridors conceal broken machines, and every new area hints that humanity’s return to the lunar surface uncovered something it was not ready to face. An AI companion, apparently the only other survivor of the disaster, helps frame the central question of what happened to the original mission.

Moment-to-moment play alternates between searching bases for clues, navigating hazardous terrain, solving route-opening puzzles, and fighting hostile robots and stranger threats. Ammunition and oxygen make preparation matter, so combat is not simply about charging forward with a loaded weapon; supplies and safe paths remain part of the pressure. Platforming sections test timing and spatial awareness in low-gravity-looking environments, while puzzles ask players to use the machinery and vehicles around them. Rather than confining the player to one lunar outpost, Moon Mystery continually changes the scale, vehicles, landscapes, and threats, giving it more of an old-school sci-fi adventure feel than a pure corridor FPS.
