Rather than rushing toward a final confrontation, the story unfolds through forgotten knowledge, environmental details, and the unsettling history of a civilization that once flourished.

Exploration drives every session, with five broad regions and smaller connected areas that gradually reveal shortcuts, secrets, and locked routes. Puzzles ask you to interpret symbols, study murals, arrange runes, and redirect magical light through mirrors and ancient devices; answers often depend on clues found well away from the obstacle itself. Four upgrades expand the torch’s capabilities, creating a satisfying metroidvania-like sense of returning to earlier locations with new ways to interact with them. There is no conventional combat system, so encounters with the lurking beast rely on awareness, movement, and smart use of the environment. The Tome of Apocrypha gives the adventure its strongest identity, collecting more than 90 entries that serve as both lore archive and puzzle resource. Artahk does not hand out answers freely, and its non-linear structure rewards players willing to slow down, make connections, and tolerate occasional uncertainty. Its blend of first-person exploration, environmental storytelling, and logic-heavy challenges recalls Myst and The Talos Principle more than a survival-horror game, though the monster adds a welcome layer of pressure.
