Scarface: The World Is Yours

Tony Montana survives the mansion siege and returns to a sun-bleached, hostile Miami with nothing left but his rage. Scarface: The World Is Yours turns the film’s tragic ending into an alternate-history crime sandbox, putting players in control of Tony’s violent campaign against Alejandro Sosa’s organization. Its tone is loud, profane, and deliberately excessive, packed with neon nightlife, designer suits, fast cars, and the constant threat of a gunfight. Rather than simply replaying the movie, it imagines what happens when Tony gets a second chance to seize the city.

Most of the action plays like a third-person open-world shooter, with Tony driving through Miami, confronting rival gangs, and taking on missions across districts controlled by competing cartels. Gunfights reward aggression but also require attention to cover, aiming, enemy positions, and Tony’s “Balls” meter, which rises when he taunts foes or pulls off risky moves; filling it unleashes a devastating blind-rage mode. Building an empire matters as much as shooting: players negotiate drug deals, buy businesses, recruit associates, launder money, and defend or reclaim territory to expand Tony’s influence. Police attention, rival attacks, and hostile takeovers keep the climb from feeling completely safe, even once cash starts flowing.

What separates it from many crime sandboxes is its focus on managing a criminal empire rather than only completing story missions. Miami feels less like a realistic simulation than a flamboyant playground built around Scarface’s larger-than-life fantasy, complete with Tony’s familiar voice, insults, and swagger. The controls and combat show their age, and the mission structure can become repetitive, but the game remains an unusually committed adaptation with a satisfyingly pulpy revenge arc. Players who enjoy Grand Theft Auto-style exploration, The Godfather’s territory management, or unapologetically chaotic classics will find plenty to enjoy, especially if they want a more arcade-like open-world crime game.
