Manhattan becomes a giant breakable playground where every car, lamppost, and chunk of pavement can become ammunition for a green-skinned wrecking ball. The Incredible Hulk adapts the 2008 film’s story but expands far beyond its familiar scenes, sending Bruce Banner against military forces, mutant threats, and comic-book villains across a city built to be demolished. Its mood is pure superhero power fantasy: less about careful stealth or precision and more about turning anger into spectacular collateral damage. Skyscrapers loom overhead, helicopters circle above, and the streets fill with tanks whenever the Hulk’s rampage grows too large to ignore.

Players roam an open version of New York, scaling buildings with huge leaps, sprinting up vertical surfaces, and dropping from rooftops into fights below. Combat revolves around heavy punches, throws, grabs, charged attacks, and the Hulk’s signature shockwave-style claps, while nearby objects serve as improvised clubs, shields, projectiles, or even oversized boxing gloves. Smashing enemies and property builds Rage, increasing the Hulk’s damage output and pushing him toward his most destructive state. Story missions mix film-inspired encounters with original objectives, while optional challenges and collectibles encourage repeated trips through the city; difficulty comes largely from managing swarms of armed soldiers, vehicles, and bosses rather than from complex combos.

Destruction is the real star, with an unusually interactive city that lets the Hulk tear apart the scenery instead of merely fighting beside it. Few licensed superhero games sell the scale of the character as effectively: leaping several blocks, hurling a bus at a mech, or ripping a rooftop structure apart still delivers the right sense of absurd strength. The visuals and mission design show their mid-2000s roots, and the world is less detailed than modern sandbox games, but its direct, satisfying mayhem remains appealing. Fans of Prototype, older open-world superhero games, and Marvel’s most unstoppable hero find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect a straightforward arcade brawler rather than a deep character-action system.
