The catch is that she only has nine lives, making deaths meaningful rather than disposable and forcing players to decide how aggressively to use each new capability. Progress involves navigating dangerous side-scrolling stages, reading enemy patterns, putting new transformations to practical use, and pushing toward the next route through the Soulplane.

Its strongest feature is the way failure becomes character progression: death is both a punishment and the source of Kuon’s growing strength, while every new form raises questions about what she loses in return. Hand-drawn, paper-cutout-inspired visuals give the game a distinctive storybook silhouette, with environments and monsters that feel delicate, theatrical, and nightmarish at once. Multiple endings add replay value, since choices and the path Kuon takes shape the outcome of her journey.
