Reiker is a dying city where gangs control the streets, institutions fail the vulnerable, and a small band of masked crime-fighters attempts to push back. Vigilantes is a hard-edged, turn-based tactical RPG built around methodical squad combat rather than superhero spectacle. Its neo-noir atmosphere favors bruised alleyways, criminal safehouses, and difficult choices over clean-cut heroics. Every victory feels earned because the underworld is organized, persistent, and far stronger than your initially underprepared team.

Missions play out on compact tactical maps where positioning, cover, line of sight, attacks of opportunity, and careful action management decide survival. Fighters can incapacitate enemies or use lethal force, while aimed shots, special moves, and perk-driven abilities let each squad member fill a distinct role. Character growth uses six core attributes and nine skills, with more than 60 perks supporting brawlers, marksmen, medics, investigators, and unusual hybrid builds. Between fights, surveillance, interrogations, dialogue checks, and citizen requests reveal gang leaders and facilities, while weapons, armor, ammunition, medicines, and base upgrades give long-term momentum. Five headquarters rooms, including a gym, workshop, library, firing range, and surgery, turn preparation into a meaningful part of the campaign.

What separates Vigilantes from more straightforward tactical RPGs is its active criminal ecosystem. Enemies who escape can return tougher, while gangs recruit members, improve their gear, establish infrastructure, and even arrange ambushes in response to your pressure. That makes investigations as valuable as winning a firefight, and it gives the city a satisfying sense of resistance and consequence.
